The Pennsylvania Conservation Campaign won big in its effort to win passage of a 625 million dollar environmental bond measure. The “Growing Greener” initiative was approved with 61 percent of the vote. Winning Connections reached more than 180,000 suburban Pittsburgh and Philadelphia voters with strong messages explaining how the measure would clean up water pollution and protect drinking water with no new taxes or fees.
Quoted in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, John Oliver, co-chair of the Pennsylvania Conservation ‘Vote Yes’ Campaign, said “I think it’s a significant victory for conservation.” Oliver is a former Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
