On November 8th, Winning Connections capped a winning season with big victories in CA, NJ, and VA. In New Jersey, we recruited the grassroots network that delivered Jon Corzine the governor’s seat. Our work on behalf of teachers, school employees, and the UFCW in California helped defeat Schwarzenegger’s ballot measure agenda. In Virginia, we mobilized teachers to help Tim Kaine beat his opponent in the closing days of the race.

Winning Connections also aided progressive candidates for mayor, school board, and county commissions all over the country. And our work on local government ballot measures ranged from school funding to open space and smart growth efforts.

Overall, we managed integrated direct voter contact programs in 23 states this year, with 60 per cent of our clients victorious at the polls. And we take pride in being part of several courageous, if unsuccessful campaigns that laid the groundwork for better government in years to come.
